The design brief was to design Mittal’s residence located in Shyam nagar, Jaipur in European/ vernacular theme. Use of half point arches and Tuscan columns are prominent in the building. The column orders on the facade are decorative set against the wall in the form of pilasters. The building columns, pilasters, decorative vaults, portico balustrade, mouldings and brackets form an integrated design vocabulary. Building characteristics include two stories, symmetrical Palladian windows with segmentation, and gabled and hipped roof, with chimney, often built externally at each gable-end. Large windows provide proper ventilation to avoid discomfort in the building. Stone cladding used in the facade is giving more of European appearance to the building. Use of keystone and steeped roof complements the aesthetics of the building.
Balcony as well as the entry space accented with a splash of green planters adding another layer of refreshment to the overall facade of the building.
